GRADUATE
PROGRAM INFORMATION
The
Computer Architecture Department (DAC), is in charge of the teaching of
courses on computer structure and organization, Computer architecture,
operating systems, computer networks, computer evaluation and VLSI
design. At the undergraduate level, the Department is involved in the
Curricula of 4 centers in the UPC. At the PhD level, the Department
offers this PhD program on computer architecture and technology,
structured in two specializations: 1) HIGH-PERFORMANCE COMPUTING AND
TECHNOLOGY and 2) COMPUTER NETWORKS AND DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS, as a
continuation of the studies mentioned before.
The
PhD program on Computer Architecture and Technology from the UPC has
obtained from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture the so
called "Mención de Calidad", recognizing its quality and
relevance, reference MCD2003-00126 (resolution published in the Spanish
BOE -- May 28, 2003) and renewed for academic years 2004/05, 2005/06
and 2006/07

During this year begins the new
PhD Program according to the
Royal Decree 56/2005 for Postgraduate Studies. This
Royal Decree
regulate the new Postgraduate studies that progressively will
substitute the actual PhD Programm. During the
transient period, the actual PhD format will go on. However, for these
students, the PhD courses will be given in Master CANS
